In Farsi, Gol means flower. Goli literally meaning “color of the flower" usually refers to light red or variations of pink. Goli is also a female given name. Goli: A Tale of Threads is a documentary film that looks at the traditional handloom textile weaving and tinting workshops in Kashan, Iran. All the News...
Canada | 2011-2016

All the News... looks at some of my fellow Iranian-Canadian friends in Toronto ending their nights, which is just the morning of the next day in Iran, by checking the news; to either hear something pleasant that makes us want to move back, or unpleasant, to secretly reaffirms their decision to emigrate. This series was photographed while the Green Movement events in Iran were still going on in 2011 after two years after its beginning in 2009.

Best of Our Memory Lies Outside Us
Iran | 2010-2011

Throughout the years that I lived in Tehran, I was always intrigued by two kinds of places. Places where my pleasant or unpleasant memories echoed, and the places that act as transformative passageways. This series is a reminder of all those places and the memories associated with them. In this series I attempt to capture the“outer me”.
